Privacy policy

Fotovol is a public directory of solar panel companies and ANRE-authorised electricians in Romania. We operate with a minimum of personal data — only what is needed to forward your quote requests to companies and to measure how the platform is used. This page explains what data we collect, why, how long we keep it, and your rights under the GDPR.

Data controller

The data controller is DEGECKO SRL, a Romanian legal entity. For any questions about data processing, write to admin@fotovol.ro.

What data we collect

We collect two types of data:

Data you enter in the “Request quote” form — county, locality, optionally phone or email, project description. This data is forwarded to the companies you request a quote from.
Browsing technical data — IP, user agent, pages visited. We process this for aggregated analytics (Google Analytics 4) and only after you click “Accept” on the cookie banner.

Cookies

We use one functional cookie (“fotovol_consent”) that stores your cookie preference, plus Google Analytics 4 cookies (_ga, _ga_<id>) — the latter are only set after you click “Accept”. Full details are in the Cookie policy.

Why we process this data

To forward your quote request to the relevant solar companies — legal basis is performance of a contract at your request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
For aggregate platform-traffic analytics — legal basis is consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can revoke any time via the “Manage cookies” link in the footer.
To comply with legal obligations (e.g. accounting records if commercial transactions occur) — legal basis is legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).

How long we keep the data

Quote requests are kept for 12 months after submission, after which they are anonymised or deleted. Aggregated analytics data (without personal identifiers) may be kept longer per Google’s policy. Account data is kept while the account exists and up to 30 days after deletion to support fraud prevention.

Who we share data with

With companies you’ve requested a quote from — they receive your request so they can contact you.
With Google (for Analytics 4), if you’ve accepted cookies.
With public authorities, only if required by law.

We do not sell your data and we do not share it with advertisers.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the following rights:

Right of access to your personal data.
Right to rectification of inaccurate data.
Right to erasure (“right to be forgotten”).
Right to restriction of processing.
Right to data portability.
Right to object to processing.
Right to withdraw consent at any time.
Right to lodge a complaint with the Romanian Data Protection Authority (dataprotection.ro).
