Senergy inverters — extreme budget, but watch reliability

Short answer
Senergy (Sineng Electric), China. A volume brand that enters the Romanian market via distributors chasing the lowest possible price. Uneven quality — many failure reports within the first 2 years of use. Formal 5-year warranty, but replacement takes weeks. Recommended only for installs under 3 kWp, low-budget, where the customer accepts the risk explicitly.
When to pick it
Senergy is a real choice only in very specific cases:
- Holiday cabin under 3 kWp, ~30 days/year of use, no reliability expectations.
- DIY / amateur installer who understands the risks and accepts self-debugging.
- Extreme budget where the EUR 200 gap vs Growatt is decisive.
Otherwise, escalating to Growatt or Solis brings concrete quality for minimal extra cost.
Watch-outs
- Senergy on a primary residence — the risk of 6 weeks without an inverter is too high.
- Senergy hybrid with an expensive battery — subtle incompatibilities can fry a EUR 3,000 battery.
- "Local replacement stock" promises without verification — demand the installer show a previous replacement done in reasonable time.
