Pylontech batteries — the Mid default for non-Huawei systems
By Fotovol Team·Updated 26 April 2026
Short answer
Pylontech, China, founded in 2009. The first Chinese residential battery brand to win European trust. Force-H2 and Pelio-L are the most widespread series. The "default" Mid pick in Romania — good price, reliability proven by sheer volume, 10-year warranty. Drawback: the monitoring app is rougher than Huawei/Tesla. Excellent compatibility with Sungrow, GoodWe, Solis, Victron inverters.
When to pick it
Pylontech is the default for a non-Huawei system:
- Sungrow / GoodWe / Solis / Victron inverter — Pylontech is officially listed with all of them. Broadest compatibility on the market.
- 5–20 kWp system with 5–15 kWh storage — Force-H2 (HV) or Pelio-L (LV) covers the full residential spectrum.
- You want 10-year evidence — Pylontech has the most field cohorts at 8–10 years; known failure rates, not speculation.
- Safe Mid budget — 10–15% below BYD at similar quality, backed by large EU volume.
Watch-outs
- Pylontech US-Series and UP-Series old generations — these are 2018–2020, without Force-H2 / Pelio-L features (2023+).
- "Pylontech + inverter X" promises without written verification — demand the official Pylontech compatibility list at your inverter model.
- "Polished app" promises — Pylontech's app is functional but rough. If you want a polished dashboard, go Huawei.
