Huawei LUNA2000, launched in 2020. Modular LFP batteries, 5/10/15 kWh, native integration with the SUN2000 inverters and the FusionSolar app. The most-installed battery in the Romanian Mid bracket in 2024–2025 — good price/quality, support via Huawei distributors. 10-year warranty / 60% residual capacity. Verify the firmware version before buying (LUNA2000-S0 vs S1 — S1 has additional cell-balancing features).
When to pick it
LUNA2000 is the rational default for a Huawei system:
- You already have a Huawei SUN2000 inverter — native integration, simple install, shared FusionSolar app. Plug-and-play.
- 5–15 kWp system with a 5–15 kWh storage plan — modularity (5 kWh module) allows progressive additions.
- Mature app — FusionSolar shows SOC, cycles, charge power in real time, with up-to-date data.
Watch-outs
- LUNA2000 on a non-Huawei inverter — works only with SUN2000; on other inverters it's a poor fit (different BMS protocol).
- LUNA2000-S0 (2020–2022) at LUNA2000-S1 (2023+) prices — S1 adds module-level cell balancing. Notable longevity difference.
- "Expansion module compatible with old S0" promises — S0/S1 incompatibility is partial; demand written confirmation on the exact model.
