GoodWe inverters — battery flexibility
By Fotovol Team·Updated 26 April 2026
Short answer
GoodWe, China, founded in 2010, listed in Shenzhen. Appreciated for the EH/ET hybrid inverters, compatible with most LFP batteries on the market. In Romania, a good alternative to Huawei when you want battery flexibility. 5–10 year warranty. Drawback: the SEMS Portal app is less polished than Huawei's FusionSolar.
When to pick it
GoodWe shines when you want battery flexibility:
- Hybrid system with a non-Huawei LFP battery — GoodWe ET/EH is officially listed with Pylontech, BYD, Dyness, GoodWe Lynx. The compatibility list is one of the broadest.
- House backup — GoodWe ET 10K-30K has a well-implemented EPS function (grid-loss backup), smooth on critical loads.
- Three-phase system with UPS-like behaviour — for owners with frequent grid outages.
Watch-outs
- SEMS Portal for data-loving owners — it's functional but rougher than FusionSolar / iSolarCloud. If you want a polished dashboard, go Huawei or Sungrow.
- Distributors promising "compatible with any battery" — even GoodWe has a concrete list; ask for your exact battery model to be on GoodWe's official list.
- Old DNS/DT models at new ET prices — DNS is 2020–2022, ET is 2023+ with better hardware.
